Our Ethos
Creating warm, authentic designs that feel like home is at the heart of what we do, and this warmth is something that’s not only reflected in our interiors, but also within our company ethos. We like to consider ourselves thoughtful regarding sustainability and how we can best support small business, true craftsmanship and the environment. Below, we’ve shared some of our current initiatives we have in place. We know there will always be more we can do, and as a team, we will continue to review our processes throughout the year.
GIVING BACK
Our Charity Initiative
Throughout the year we hold fundraisers, including sample sales and offer reduced design packages with 100% of proceeds going straight to our chosen charity. We also take on pro bono design projects, with the aim to design spaces to benefit the public. We’re currently working on creating a community café for The Hospice of St Francis, who provide incredible support to individuals and to families of those who have been diagnosed with a serious illness. As many know, there is an incredibly important connection between wellness and our environments, whether this is our home, community spaces or work place, and through our pro bono projects we aim to offer beautiful designs accessible to everyone.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Our Makers
We work with skilled carpenters, decorators, artists and specialist craftspeople -they are the backbone of what we do and we’ve built relationships with specialists across the UK.
REDUCED WASTE
Fabric Remnants
We often create custom upholstery pieces and bespoke soft furnishings for client projects, which can result in textile offcuts & remnants. We’ve partnered with ‘Return-to-Glory’ who restore and up-cycle furniture by cleverly using the fabric remnants to make the most beautiful pieces to sell, with 100% of profits going straight to The Hospice of St Francis.
CONSCIOUS PACKAGING
Recycled, Reusable & Re-purposed
When purchasing an item from our shop or if receiving fabric samples in the post, we use fully compostable tissue paper, recyclable boxes and organic block printed ribbon. For larger items, we don’t believe in re-packaging purely for aesthetic reasons only, and we will regularly re-purpose postal boxes to reduce our carbon emissions associated with the production and recycling of new boxes.
ONLINE ORDERS
Promotions & Discounts
We believe in supporting true craftsmanship and many of our product makers are small businesses and/or sole traders. Which is why we price our products to ensure our buyers are charged fairly and our makers are paid correctly, it’s for this reason we don’t often offer promotional discounts directly on products, and therefore don’t take part in discount days such as Black Friday.
