This week I revisited a client who we carried out some worked for this year to deliver the last few items to complete the room just before her new baby arrives. It is always so lovely to see the end results of a project we’ve designed, and both the client and I are so thrilled with the results. We also managed to have a good catch up over a cup of tea and freshly cooked lemon drizzle cake 🙂
Most of the elements of the design for the room had been put in place, but we were just waiting on the window seat cushions to be finished, and here they are installed – don’t they look amazing? One of the main criteria for the room’s design was to have ample comfortable seating so that they could host lots of guests, without having to bring in extra seating on those occasions. We had discussed having a smaller sofa or love seat in the bay window area, but I really felt that it would make the space feel cluttered and cramped. So instead we suggested a window seat, made to be really comfortable by using a feather wrapped foam seat pad (as you find on most sofas these days) and lots of soft feather cushions for back support. The result is perfect and has fulfilled their practical requirements, without compromising on style or comfort. We’ve already had a few requests to recreate something similar for a few other clients.
The room has a lovely uncluttered feel to it, and with a little one soon to arrive, we have made sure there is plenty of practical stage space too. The window seat has storage beneath, as does the coffee table footstool. We also commissioned some bespoke storage for each side of the chimney breast. Keep your eyes peeled for the full photo shoot, which will take place later this Autumn – I can’t wait to share it with you!
My job is hugely rewarding in itself, so I was so touched to received a special thank you present from my client for our work, feeling very thankful and spoilt!
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
Claire.
