A lovely delivery arrived this week! I now have the full Susie Watson pattern books, including her newest collection for the Summer. Susie Watson’s fabric can be used all together to create her signature look, but I also think they are versatile and can be mixed in with other fabrics to work with other looks. I particularly love the ticking stripes, which are charming used as linings on curtains and blinds.
I spent some time developing the girl’s bedroom scheme this week, selecting which fabric’s we’d be using for the different elements in the room. The pink beaded trim and flash of lime green really brings these fabrics to life.
To keep the room design young and contemporary, we’re using a grey geometric fabric to sit along side all of the brights, and hang typographic prints above the bed.
We’ve also begun work on the boy’s bedroom design, again using geometric patterns to keep a young feel. Using a palette of red and blue with a hint of yellow, we’re going bold with the colour of the furniture and the pattern on the blind. You may see from the picture that the boy loves Tin Tin, and we’ve got some great prints to involve in the room which also tie in with his love of travel.
I look forward to sharing the progress of these rooms as we start to implement the designs.
Have a great weekend everyone!
